Search Engine Friendly Website

Tuesday, October 12th, 2010

What is your website telling the search engines? These days, there are lots and lots of websites or simply hundreds of thousands of websites running on the same topic. Your website just happened to be one of them. This makes a great competition for web traffic.

Now, here is the thing, many of these websites are operating on heavy loaded graphics, sometimes multimedia, and are basically really cool websites! But behind the “cool sites” lack of the basic marketing and promotional techniques. These websites have no way to communicate with search spiders. They were built to be cool. So in a sense, they are losing a major important component of their visitors. With every passing day, hundreds of tourists are missed because search engines were left out of their development phase.

Now, if you want to build a cool website, it is great. But just remember to incorporate title tag, description tag, and keyword tags in your html. This way search spiders can index your website accordingly. And the result is website traffic – these are just basic techniques toward web traffic as they make any website search engine friendly.

The key to note is that once search engines crawl a website, they take with them information on your website in these Meta tags and that is what your website is ranked with on their databases. This is so important but a lot websites do not have them.

Now this is not the end, try to do link building or link exchange with relevant websites. They do not always have to be similar but relevant. When they are similar the results are very large, it is almost like emphasizing the importance of your website. But if they are not similar, and they are ethical and relevant they are also beneficial in developing web traffic, online presence and even page rank.

These are basic search engine optimization technique, incorporating Meta tags into your website html code and doing link building. Always build your website to be search engine friendly not just attractive and cool.

Web Portal Design For Corporations

Sunday, May 2nd, 2010

Common web portals are the giants that almost everyone has hear of AOL, Yahoo!, and Google. These portals all allow you to log in, check email, chat, check the weather and other personalized information without logging out or leaving the portal.

Along with the above mentioned portals which are personal portals meant for use on personal computers, hand held devices, and phones there are other kinds of portal designs for corporate purposes. A corporate web portal design is one that is set up to provide a similar type of service but within the boundaries of a corporate website. These web portal designs work by integrating the needs of an employee or costumers and making that information available and easy to access. For example, employees might need to access costumer data, warehouse information, emails, and emeetings. These needs could all be met by using corporate web portal design. In this way an employee could log in once and have access to everything they need and limited access to things that they don’t need. Some of these corporate web portals can also link to vendors that the employee might need either to augment their service to costumer or for supply purposes.

The same type of web portal design can be used for costumers too. Think of this as something along the lines of Amazon.com. A customer can log on and access their personal account information. They can view their history and be lead to products that match up with their purchase history. They can also purchase products that link to accompanying products while still using their regular account for purchases and shipping.
